Who we are

Page Patterns (pagepatterns.com) is run by Peter Claridge, an individual based in England, United Kingdom. He is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. You can contact him at hello@pagepatterns.com.

The short version

  • Your designs stay on your device. The app runs in your browser and never uploads what you make.
  • We use Google Analytics only if you accept analytics cookies, and you can change your mind at any time.
  • If you email us, we use your email to reply.
  • If you get a key for the MCP server, we keep your name, email address and key details. See Accounts and keys.

What stays on your device

The app saves these in your browser's local storage so your work survives a reload. They never leave your device, and we cannot see them:

  • your current design
  • your settings, such as the light or dark interface and which panels are open
  • the brand colours you save
  • an image you load to trace, if any
  • your cookie choice

You can remove them by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Share links and project files. A share link holds your design inside the link, after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part of a link to any server, so we never receive it. Anyone you give the link to can see the design. Project files (.pattern.json) are saved to your own computer.

Analytics cookies

When you first visit, we ask whether we can use analytics cookies. If you choose Accept, we load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, provided by Google. They tell us which pages people visit and which features they use, so we can see what to improve. Google Analytics collects:

  • the pages you view and actions such as copying a prompt or downloading a file, but never the content of your designs
  • the site that sent you, your browser and device type, screen size, and your approximate location (country or city), which Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

_ga_<ID>Keeps track of the current visit2 years

We rely on your consent to use these cookies (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations). If you choose Reject, or make no choice, Google Tag Manager is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

Changing your choice. Use Cookie settings at the foot of any page, or in the app's menu. If you withdraw consent, we remove the analytics cookies.

How long. Google keeps the analytics data for 14 months, then deletes it.

Where. Google may process this data in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the UK recognises as giving adequate protection.

Hosting

The site is served by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Inc. Like any web server, it receives your IP address and browser details in order to deliver pages and protect the service from abuse, and keeps them in short-lived logs. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Cloudflare may process this data in the United States and in other countries where it runs data centres, under appropriate safeguards.

The fonts are served from our own site, so loading a page does not contact Google Fonts or any other font service.

If you contact us

If you email hello@pagepatterns.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply, and keep the conversation for up to two years in case you follow up, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering you.

Accounts and keys

You only need an account to get a key for the MCP server. The editor needs no account.

What we keep. When you sign in with GitHub or Google, they send us your name, email address and a link to your profile picture, and GitHub also sends your username. We keep these with a fingerprint (hash) of your key, its first characters, the dates it was made and last checked, your plan (free), whether we have turned the key off, and your choice about update emails and when you made it. We never keep the key itself.

Sign-in and security records. To keep accounts secure, our account service records when you sign in and the IP address and browser of each signed-in session. When the MCP server checks your key, the service receives your IP address with the request, as any web server does, and keeps it in short-lived logs.

Why. To give you the key you asked for and to check it when the MCP server starts (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b): providing the service you asked for). We send update emails only if you tick Email me about new looks and features on the account page (your consent, Article 6(1)(a)). Untick it there at any time.

Where. Accounts are stored by Supabase, Inc. on servers in London. Supabase may access them from other countries under appropriate safeguards.

How long. Until you delete your account with Delete account on the account page, which removes your account, key details and sign-in sessions at once. Short-lived security logs, which can include your email address and IP address, are deleted on the service's normal schedule.

Staying signed in. The account page keeps you signed in with a token in your browser's local storage, which Sign out removes. It sets no cookies.

AI tools and the MCP server

When you paste a Page Patterns prompt into an AI tool, that tool's own privacy policy applies to what you paste. The Page Patterns MCP server runs on your own computer and does not send your designs or your site's files to us. About once a day it checks your key with our account service, sending only the key.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy to pass to someone else. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@pagepatterns.com. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Children

Page Patterns is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this notice

When this notice changes, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data, we will say so on this page.
