Opacity
Fine-tune, Opacity
How visible the pattern is. Every shape gets its own opacity between the lightest and the strongest value; these settings choose that range and how it spreads over the pattern.
Opacity range
The lightest shape and the strongest shape, as opacity percentages. The Opacity slider above the canvas sets both ends in one move (Subtle, Medium, Bold), and Bold stops at about 22% for most shapes. Here you can set each end, up to 100%. A narrow range looks calm and even; a wide range gives more contrast between shapes.
Shapes shown
The share of shapes that are drawn at all. Leaving some out makes a lighter, more open pattern and a smaller file.
Favour
More options
Leans the spread of opacities toward one end of the range. Below 0 most shapes are light with a few strong ones; above 0 most are strong.
Variation
More options
How opacity varies from shape to shape. Random picks each shape's opacity on its own. Clustered uses smooth noise, so stronger shapes gather in soft patches; this reads as designed rather than random. Mix blends the two, set by Clustered share.
Cluster size and Detail
For Clustered and Mix. Cluster size is roughly how many shapes wide each patch is. Detail adds smaller ripples on top of the large patches: 1 is smooth, 4 is busy.
Gaps
More options
Which shapes are left out when Shapes shown is under 100%. Scattered leaves out shapes at random. Clustered leaves out whole patches, with their own Cluster size.
